The neon overhead light makes for some harsh flesh tones (it even gives Brat Pitt the appearance of looking older than he is), but those are few and far between. There are explosions, nearfield pans, and weapon fire that rotate around the soundstage, shifting overhead, passing by at ear level and coming at the listening position. When you’re in the mood for a flamboyant bit of escapism Bullet Train is just the ticket (I know, I know), while looking and sounding fantastic on Blu-ray.

This all builds toward a hectic climax, and if it feels the destination was all a bit too slight, getting there was the fun part. Everyone here is performing at the top of their game and having the time of their lives cutting it all up on set. Anyway, I also discovered that David Leitch also co-directed the first John Wick film with Chad Stahelski.This is a reference quality high-definition presentation that beautifully renders the film’s animated elements. In fact, it’s completely insane, ridiculous, inane, bizarre, and just a neon drenched Tokyo anime action scene brought to life in a 2 hour blood soaked version of Crash meets Murder on the Orient Express.
