About this deal

I’m afraid this is where we part ways though, because the curl is nowhere near as pronounced and pretty as when my trusty Shu Uemura curlers have been let loose on my lashes. I got mine as a sample with Elle UK magazine and the full size is being release at the end of February. The brush does the lifting and curling and then the 12 hour curve-setting formula does exactly that, sets those curled lashes in place for 12 hours. Be very mindful to not have too much product on the wand like I explained above or things could get pretty clumpy.

I'm sure you're sick of reading reviews of Benefit's new Roller Lash Mascara (you can get a free sample in this month's Elle, if you didn't already know) so I thought I'd do a comparison with a potential dupe! Even if I finish getting ready for a night out early I'd rather go and get myself a drink than sit with an eyelash curler! Most notably, this mascara creates a ‘wide-eyed’ effect, which I think is quite important as a Girl in Glasses – how to make your eyes stand out behind those lenses! I remove the applicator from the tube in a way that any excess is swept on the sides of the inside of the tube. The mascara lasted well throughout the day and I didn't experience any flaking at all, I found with the Benefit They're Real mascara that I had a lot of little bits of black under my lower lash line where the mascara flaked, that said I really don't like they're real at all, but that's a whole other blog post. Thanks to Elle, the World’s best-selling fashion magazine, I was able to exclusively try Benefit Cosmetics brand new Roller Lash mascara this month!

I would highly recommend this to anyone with short or straight lashes because it makes such a huge difference. I have long, long lashes but they are stick straight and require much curling to get them to peep up.I know it seems strange, but eating something (even if just a saltine cracker and even if eating something feels like the last thing in the world that would be what you want) helped me with morning sickness. One other interesting thing to note with this mascara is that the expiration date is 6 months after purchasing.

I'd still use a lash curler - currently the Shu Uemura Lash Curler to further curl it before coating my lashes with mascara because they're not obvious enough to my liking. No doubt I really like how it curls my lashes and make them stay that way for a long period of time. With a design based on retro hair rollers and suitably adorable packaging to match (come on, this is Benefit we’re talking about… would you expect anything less? meaning that my eyes refrained from freaking out and springing forth tears like they’d spotted a sad dog story on The Daily Mail. If you haven’t heard of this mascara (though I am sure you have, unless you’ve been living under a rock), I’m going into all the details — the good, the bad, you know what I mean — right after the jump.
