If, however, you were planning to use the cot inside the compartment of a family-sized tent, there would definitely be enough room for it. Perhaps a little unusual compared to traditional travel cots, the Arc 2 is a simple but cleverly designed tent. The Little Life Arc 2 Travel Cot is their lightest and most compact travel cot, weighing in at just 2.

When it came to comfort, Ruth's 18-month-old had trouble settling in this cot because he didn’t like being enclosed so she had to leave the side panel open. The only tricky bits I have found are putting the fitted sheets on (they are a bit tight) and putting it up in a confined space. You will need apply some pressure to do this, but excessive force shouldn’t be used as you would risk damaging the cot. At the end of our time trialling the Little Life Arc 2 travel cot, we asked ourselves the simple question “Do we see ourselves taking this cot with us on future trips? As mentioned before, assembly is quick and easy, and there is a fairly thick, and soft mattress which is very comfortable for all age groups.

I wonder if this is something that Little Life will consider in the future to help all of us travel as lightly as possible? The mattress actually comes with a little sheet as well to help you keep it nice and clean over the course of a holiday. We have an upcoming trip to Borneo trip and we feel that this cot offers us a lot of options due to the dual-purpose nature of it being a cot and sunshade.

If your child is not particularly tall, I would say that the Arc 2 is suitable from birth to 3-4 years old. This lightweight travel cot can be put up in moments, with it's colour-coded, shock corded aluminium poles. Yes, there are four tether straps on the corners of the cot, which I used around the legs of a bed to keep the cot secure.Unfortunately, the instructions I had didn’t quite match the product as they’ve updated the colours but, once I’d figured it out, while a little fiddly, it wasn’t too difficult. The top panel zips undone and folds away so little fingers can’t play with it, and the front panel also zips right down. The added bonus, in my mind, and what made it usable for different ages, was that there are two different options for how you unzip the cot.

With see-through mesh panels for extra ventilation and anti-insect protection, it’s ideal for holidays abroad or summer getaways and comes with a compact daysack which it easily packs into for storage and transportation. This does not apply to any perishable goods, unsealed software or item personalised or made to your specification. With any of them, just be careful with the feet/pole ends on your tent groundsheet/camping mats/etc.

As it was January, the travel cot was tested indoors so, as per the instructions, it had to be attached to an immobile object using furniture loops on the straps.
