A Hybrid headlamp that comes with a "Core" battery that is rechargeable via a standard USB port, it is also compatible with standard batteries (3 x AAA) without the need for an adaptor, making it ideal for prolonged expedition use. To ensure you're always charged up the Actik comes with the CORE rechargeable battery plus, it's compatible with 3 standard batteries, thanks to the HYBRID CONCEPT design. The emergency, reduced output “get you home” feature that kicks in when the battery is getting low is a great feature and could well be a life saver. The Actik Core has been and will continue to be my preferred 'pocket friendly, every day torch and preferred walking, camping and travelling companion. The Petzl Actik Core is a powerful and diverse, multi-beam headlamp packing 600 lumens and a red light into a 88g package.The torch has three main settings 7 lumens, perfect for finding something in your tent, 100 lumens for running and such at dusk, and 600 which is perfect for any night time activities in the full dark.

This hybrid headlamp is compatible has the CORE rechargeable battery and is compatible with AAA batteries in-case you're out on multi-day hikes and would not be able to recharge the head torch. Used the head torch a lot and it’s so much better than my old Petzl model, although that lasted me for years and did so much work for me.
