About this deal

That said, the Sony is a sleek-looking speaker that's designed to be used at home, and supports Sony's '360 Reality Audio' virtual surround format. From house parties, to barbecues, to picnics, JBL Boombox 2 provides all the portable sound you need. The sub-bass synth hits that punctuate the beat are powerful, but not as in-your-face as the beefed-up drum loop—this isn't normally the case.

That said, the TREBLAB is a smaller portable speaker that's easier to bring along with you when you're out and about. But if you want to, you can still use a wired connection on this speaker cause it still has an audio jack. It’s a hefty tag to pay for a pretty one-dimensional product, but if you need an outdoor-ready speaker for a family gathering and don't care about Hi-Res Audio, the JBL Boombox 2 has you covered.

Fortunately, there's a graphic EQ featured in its companion app you can use to tweak its sound to your liking. Of course, we are aware that most Bluetooth speakers don’t support both, but this speaker is quite expensive, so it would be expected. It also has an exceptionally long battery life, lasting almost 24 hours from a single charge, though this can vary depending on your usage. From backyard barbecues to weekend road trips, JBL Boombox 2 brings it with monstrous bass, bold design and up to 24 hours of play time. We're always looking for ways to improve so we'll make sure to submit your feedback to the right department. It's on the expensive side, but then again it's all I will ever need for the foreseeable future for music/sound in my house, and it's portable not only for take with on trips, beach, etc.

Now looks wise, the boombox 3 now has that huge JBL Logo on the front which I know some people just aren’t a huge fan of… but that’s neither here nor there. However, the Boombox has a longer battery life as well as an IPX7 rating for water resistance, although we don't currently test for this. But overall, the port set up on the Boombox 3 gets the job done and its very similar to the port set up on the Boombox 2… but I was really hoping the Boombox 3 would have dual USB C ports on it that would allow you charge your own devices and use them as wired connection. There’s an exclamation mark on one side of the JBL logo and a little extra colour on the underside of the handle. That said, the JBL is smaller, more portable, and offers a better-balanced sound profile out-of-the-box. But if you do invest in the JBL Boombox 2, you won’t regret it, because you’ll get fantastic sound even in noisy outdoor environments. The JBL has a better soundstage performance, and it can play stereo content without downmixing it to mono. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Bluetooth, which is what the Boombox 2 makes use of, is the most widely bought kind of cordless tranmission. And in general, the Boombox 3 is a rugged speaker rocking an IP67 ratting… meaning that its both dust and water resistant.
