About this deal

Zooming to 50mm results in increased sharpness in the centre of the frame, but at the expense of slightly reduced performance towards the edges of the frame. If you’re like me, though, such a lens is only really a useful option if the optics are good as well. This telephoto zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system cameras sports a collapsible design, to reduce its size when not in use. By default it’ll shut off the OIS and use the IBIS (and I’d suggest leaving it that way…with most lenses, the Oly’s excellent IBIS is superior to the OIS on almost all Panasonic lenses. The lens must use a fair amount of plastic to keep the weight down, but does employ a metal lens mount.

The small size of this lens should make it perfect for use with even the most compact Micro Four Thirds bodies, such as the Panasonic Lumix GM5, and it also feels right at home on the Panasonic Lumix GX7 used for testing. When on hikes, I am guessing that 90% of my shots are going to be taken with the 8-25, but still want to carry a lightweight tele for those occasional tighter shots - this is perfect for that. Our high school live tutoring packs match students with a dedicated math tutor for help with school topics, test prep, and homework help.Sure it wont give me the reach for wildlife photography but it does give good enough reach when you can't get close enough to something. Finance is only available to permanent UK residents aged between 18 and 80, subject to status, terms and conditions apply.

HD video support which gives you smooth aperture changes so there are no sudden jumps in exposure and a silent design for enhanced capture of audio, perfect for recording 4K.Panasonic claims some degree of weather resistance for this lens (splash/dust proof), and indeed you can see a rubber seal around the lens mount. When mounted on the Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) cameras of LUMIX G, users can take advantage of the high-speed, high-precision Contrast AF system. Even so, clarity is still very good towards the edges, although sharpness is outstanding in the centre of the frame at this focal length. Any detail in the distance tends to be compromised by the intensely hot, muggy, humid atmosphere here in Singapore. The operation ensures aperture changes are smooth when recording so there are no unnecessary jumps in exposure and silent operation for optimum audio quality.

Stopping down further doesn't provide any noticeable further gains, due to diffraction limiting showing up at ƒ/11.For the ''VFA'' target (the viewfinder accuracy target from Imaging Resource), we also provide sample crops from the center and upper-left corner of each shot, so you can quickly get a sense of relative sharpness, without having to download and inspect the full-res images. Panasonic has renewed four LUMIX G lenses to have full compatibility with their current camera lineup. The inclusion of stepping motor makes the focusing action smooth and silent for use in both photo and video recording. I'm thinking that if you're on a sizeable GX7/GX8, you could go with a 14-140mm which allows you to run-and-gun from wide to telephoto.
