Description

All kidding aside, this book is a mish-mash of dishonest promises, good information, and idealized guidelines all wrapped in the guise of NOT BEING A DIET, while at the same time trying to change what you eat completely - with mostly good intent! And even some body positivity! That is until the end when you listen to the hypnotherapy exercise and are made to look at other people as disgusting. I had already successfully used the Easy way to quit smoking as had a a number of other people i knew , so I had a reasonable level of conviction in what I might learn about both myself and society's collective approach to eating. But eve without that i think with an average intelligence and an open mind or at least a suspension of counter arguments until you have reached the end of the book and heard his whole philosophy out you will find success with this book. The first error lowers the impact of his statements about everything, and the second ensures that the readers stays in the diet trap. (And I'm not so sure about the arguments he presents for his particular diet, either.) I am going to go through the book again and highlight only the parts that I find relevant. Maybe through doing this, I will be less distracted by the stuff I didn't connect with.

Does it work - YES - if you don't get hung up on writing style or wanting each individual word to be scientifically exact. Are crocodiles ugly because they eat largely meat? Possibly not, maybe they're not even ugly. But the seed is sown in your mind and the next time you're rooting around in the fridge the meat looks less appealing and the fruit and vegetables more so. I have been a cheese fanatic for all my life but I tend to eat a lot less - not because I'm being "Good" but because Allen has switched my brain around a bit and I really, really prefer the fruit and vegetables that I tend to eat more of now. However, I recently read Allen Carr’s “Easyweigh to Lose Weight” and, in this article, you’ll find the main points I took from it. 17 Key Lessons Yes, it can be a bit heavy going to start with, possibly because he's got to undo even more of society's brainwashing around food than he had to do with alcohol and tobacco. The author does seem to have followed the principles of Intuitive Eating to find his own happy place, which is great for him. But rather than guiding you to your own conclusions and happy place, he presents his own diet as "this is the way it should be." He does say "it's ok" to eat some of the "bad" stuff because we have a "junk margin." But, I mean, if you want to eat stuff in "the junk margin..." Well, "junk" is a pretty clear indication of what the author thinks of your eating habits, and another assignation of morality.Culture has conditioned us to think of certain foods as savoury or not. Our perceptions about foods are not based on fact and logic but are rather influenced by commercials and upbringing. Allen Carr: "Rejoice that you are now finally free to eat as much of your favourite foods as you want, whenever you want, as often as you want, and be the exact weight you want to be without dieting, special exercise, using will power, or feeling deprived." (quote from the book) The taste for certain foods can be acquired and can be un-acquired as well. Learn to enjoy healthy food!

In the end, Carr wants you on a vegan diet that is high in water content, with your only drink being a glass of water. But remember, it's not a diet. And don't listen to ANYONE, no matter how much of an expert they claim to be, if they go AGAINST Nature's Guide. While the food that will satisfy you is the one that has the right nutrients, you are allowed to consume junk food – there are no restrictions, but you do need moderation (the author, however, considers junk food ALL processed food)

Retailers:

No wild animal is overweight because they all listen to their instincts on when to stop eating. Humans should start listening to their instincts as well. Results? I am still stunned! Its been only 9 days since I started on his method. I am enjoying fruits, veggies and nuts like a monkey, I am bursting with energy yet more relaxed and I am 1.5 kg less in weight! And best of all, I never ever enjoyed food so much. For that food to be the stuff of monkeys? I still can't believe myself...

Hotjar sets this cookie to identify a new user’s first session. It stores the true/false value, indicating whether it was the first time Hotjar saw this user.

My overall food intake has dropped, what i am eating is incredibly natural, fresh and healthy, I have lost 2 kilos a week with no other changes than food intake. Some rich deserts i still like , but i find i am leaning strongly to fruit dominated deserts with limited cream/chocolate/sauces. The ideal weight isn’t a number, it’s when you look at yourself in the mirror naked and love your shape, your health and your confidence.

siempre que tu inteligencia esté en conflicto con tu instinto, sería algo ilógico contradecir tu instinto.' This is an excellent book, but you need to be open minded , if you go into it as sceptic , you will tear it apart based on you existing 'mis-beliefs' about what is and is not good nutrition and not finish it. You can continue to enjoy eating out going food shopping without feeling deprived without dieting ever a According to Carr, the problem with undesired weight gain isn't eating, but overeating and eating the wrong foods. He rails on the junk food industry for over-salting their foods and lacing them with addictive ingredients that make it impossible NOT to overeat. Combine that with a corporate ad industry whose concern isn't your health, but their profits, and you've got a recipe for disaster. This information isn't new, but it's always good to be reminded that processed food = bad.
