It doesn't really matter is you have red hair, afro hair, long hair, very short hair or no hair at all, we are all equally amazing and important. However, I’m wondering, and I’m sorry if this is covered in the book, what I should do with my daughter’s hair so we can avoid ever using shampoo. From beards to party hair (though I would have expected a bit more party) to kippah hair and afro hair. I just read this in one sitting because I couldn’t stop, I was too busy fist pumping and nodding vigorously. This would be a great book to have on a classroom library shelf so kids can look through and see themselves, and all types of people, on the page.I would also discuss with them their feelings on the hairstyles they were familiar with versus those they were not as familiar with or had never seen personally before. With it's bright, bold graphics, and use of just a few words, this is going to make a terrific board book. With bold, colorful graphics and poetic rhyme, this is a stunning tribute to every kind of hair, perfect for fans of Hair Love .

I would like to know if someone has tried this with thin hair, as it works differently than with thicker hair. Where once books commonly only referenced short or long hair, now we have a book that gives a visual for multiple types of covered hairstyles - both secular and religious; as well as to hairstyles that have cultural significance.They are in fact the work of a dastardly Super Villain and she is astounded when she discovers the culprit’s identity. I also appreciate that the art here can offer the opportunity to teach not just about hair, but also about positive/negative space, shapes, the mixing of color (color theory), race/ethnicity, different cultures, and so much more. The message is clear: no matter what you look like, you are beautiful, valued and welcome everywhere.
