Description

When teams have generated ideas or concepts, mixing and matching is a great way to get them to go further. Fruit Party can teach the principles of this, but doing a round of Franken Ideation can help them dig deeper. Tell each team member to grab 2-3 post-its representing ideas or concepts from the wall, and to not think too much about which ones. What will combining these ideas give us? Ask the players if any initiatives are missing from the wall. If so, request that they write them down, post them, and discuss their benefits so that you can capture them.

After the post-it notes are all up, discuss the results with employees. And, be prepared to kill some rules on the spot. As the Inc.com article states, “Prove you’re willing to change. Prove employee engagement is a verb, not a noun.” This is crucial for demonstrating that employee input about activities they see as counterproductive are being taken seriously. It also helps to promote buy-in and make employees feel more comfortable bringing ideas to your attention.

There are 3 outputs for this workshop: expected features, expected benefits and the unique value proposal of your product: Ask your players to write ideas on what can be included in the pitch and post them along the spectrums in their designated areas. In many engineering industries, the technology comes first and then an application is sought. This is the reverse of the standard innovation process. Instead of starting with problems and developing innovations, for this exercise you will examine the latest technological developments and consider their application to problems. Fruit party is a fun innovation game that can be used to teach a variety of innovation themes, from the importance of generation and combinatory innovation to the idea of there being “no bad ideas.”

Task: Teams must build the tallest free-standing column of balloons in the room using only the props provided Left – “ Small” = ideas that do not make customers curious or intrigued; customers have probably already thought of theseMove into a neighboring wall space, pull down two random initiatives and ask the players which they can agree are more or less important to the organization’s vision or goals. Begin the game with a clear definition of what a Market Opportunity means. Write on the board: A market opportunity is any application of your abilities for a specific set of customers. Experts have long advocated that psychological ownership or empowerment among groups can improve organizations. The slogan of the product is the most important benefit, in other words, the unique value proposal of the product.

As Rebecca Duray and Glenn Milligan point out, increased ownership for product design and production have been shown to improve customer satisfaction. Revolutionary sales experts Matthew Dixon— Managing Director of the Corporate Executive Board’s Sales and Service Practice— and Brent Adamson— Senior Director of the Sales Executive Council— have developed an insightful technique to help organizations develop customized sales strategies. In their book, The Challenger Sale: Taking Control of the Customer Conversation, they describe one of the most effective types of sales professionals: The Challenger. These people are able to confidently teach, tailor, and take control while leveraging constructive tension to their advantage throughout the sale. Take advantage of this game’s visual organization — as illustrated in The Challenger Sale— and extensive collaboration to identify how to balance the aspects of this technique. At this step, players will assess the potential and the challenge of each opportunity in their set, to compare and prioritize options. Market opportunities are not born equal- some are more attractive than others.Fast, energetic team problem solving game that will encourage lateral thinking, innovation and best use of team dynamics to win (15 mins) Before your meeting, draw a star in the middle of a large poster or whiteboard. In the center of the star, write the topic you are going to focus on (ex. Project X, Conference, Daily schedule). Around the star, write different aspects of the topic you want to discuss with your team (ex. advertisements, graphics, communication, functions).
