Description

This textbook’s main aim is to help improve your conversation skills, which is a standard focus of many conventional intermediate-level courses. You’ll learn valuable conversational tools like giving commands, sharing preferences and persuading others. The Spanish used in some stories can be challenging, so the book may not be the best first choice for true novices.

There is consistency in the way that the material or the sections are presented although some chapters contain more sections than other so the instructor has to think about how much time to dedicate to the chapter as it might not be the same for each. All chapters start with a reading and an introduction of the goals for the lesson and end with a glossary of used words and personalized vocabulary. There are several types of books that will have a key influence on beginning and advancing in your Spanish learning journey. Dictionaries are just that—dictionaries. Books full of text, words, definitions and without pictures. Immersion is the fastest way to learn Spanish. Consuming content meant for native speakers but is still appropriate for your level is the best way to achieve immersion from home. This includes reading Spanish books, watching TV shows and movies, listening to music and more. A variety of activities will help you practice these skills as you move along. Plus, if you don’t have anyone to practice your Spanish conversational skills with—never fear! The accompanying CD will help you with the spoken language. 13. “How to Become Fluent in Spanish”

Contents

First, it uses the word and picture method. Each new word or sentence is accompanied by a line drawing that instantly explains its meaning.

This book is similar to the 2,000 Most Common Spanish Words book in that it teaches you the most frequently used Spanish verbs—501, to be exact. You’re on a whole different level of Spanish learning now—you’re advanced enough that you can finally focus on attaining that lofty goal of sounding like a native. We’re not just going to solidify your fundamental Spanish knowledge, we’re going to build on that with real-world language practice and literary immersion. 35 Essential Books to Lift Advanced Spanish Learners to Fluency In an overall perusal of the text, I found it to be generally error free. I did note the misspelling of "Respuestas" on p. 12. Plus, the vocabulary and verbs introduced are based on spoken frequency to ensure you start communicating and understanding as soon as possible. The explanations are easy to understand for non-native speakers without being overwhelming. The photos are pleasant and engaging. For example, the phrase “She reads a book” in Spanish is Ella lee un libro. The subject ( ella) comes first, the verb ( leer) comes second and the object ( libro) is last. These sentences are much easier to say than if the contractions weren’t used ( a el tren and de el vecino). The verb examples you just saw are in their infinitive form—they end in r and their endings haven’t changed.

You can explore this concept with these guides on Spanish gender rules and indefinite and definite articles. 2. Noun Pluralization

The CDs are high-quality, clear and well-modulated recordings with the speaking rate set at a learner-appropriate speed.
