Description

The fan can be controlled via the magnetic remote control that sits neatly in the centre of the fan allowing you to select from one of the twelve fan speeds, the side to side or up and down motion and for when you want cool air to help you sleep a Sleep Mode that adjusts the cooling rate so that you don’t wake up feeling too cold in the middle of the night. The display can also be turned on or off depending on whether you like to have a bit of light in your bedroom at night or not. This fan is astonishingly quiet. At 1 metre we measured noise at just 43.0dB on the lowest setting and 56.1dB on maximum. Measured at a right angle, completely out of the airflow, this dropped to just 29dB and 42.7dB. These figures are well within comfortable levels. More impressively, wind speeds weren’t that much slower when measured over distance. At one metre we recorded 1.4m/s and 2.6m/s from minimum to maximum. Even at 2 metres, we could measure 1.7m/s with the fan on maximum – that’s about what we’d expect from a big tower fan, and hints at the large volume of air being moved. You can have the MeacoFan 1056P oscillate either horizontally or vertically, and you can have it do both, which makes it rotate in a circular criss-cross pattern. This helps move the air around a much wider area, again, making the fan particularly impressive when it comes to performance.

This fan takes all the features and benefits of our award-winning desk-top fan and puts them into a sturdy and attractive pedestal that can be moved from room to room and cool the air without taking up table space. Just like the original 1056, the pedestal fan is super-quiet, circulating the air within your room efficiently and effectively. The circular remote has a few controls that are missing from the fan body. There’s a useful Eco mode, which automatically increases fan speed with the room temperature. Additionally, you can turn off the fan’s display and mute its control beep. Taken together with the quiet performance, this helps make the MeacoFan 650 a great model for unobtrusive cooling overnight. Featured with DC technology which has three major benefits: low noise level, low running costs and a longer lifespan.Covering a full room and recirculating the air, the MeacoFan 1056 Pedestal Air Circulator is a great choice for dealing with stuffy feeling rooms. While the original model was desktop-based, this pedestal fan is more convenient and easier to place, I just wish it could sit a little taller. Both of these fans come with magnetic remote controllers. The Dyson’s remote is stored on the top and the Meaco’s bang in the centre of the fan grille. Both are just as easy to lose but the Meaco is much more simple to operate without it. Lose the Dyson remote and you’re pretty much stuffed. The fan head quietly moves side to side, and up and down, bouncing the air off the walls and ceiling to create a pleasant breeze within the room rather than just blowing the air directly at you. This means that the whole of your room is cooled, rather than just one or two areas, making your home or office a comfortable space to live or work. Also perfect for home gyms, conservatories and annexe office spaces, our new pedestal fan is a great option for areas that regularly become too warm. Secondly, as mentioned, when not selected the digital display icons are very faint which can make them hard to read. Again, this is much clearer if you opt to use the remote control as here the icons are printed and so much easier to read. The MeacoFan 1056P offers a whole host of positives. It is a product that should sit atop of your must-haves’ list this summer. It did everything we hoped and more. This is an ideal product to banish hot, uncomfortable nights and those stuffy days working in home offices.” Luxurious Magazine

Both of these fans deliver in spades but if cost, effectiveness, efficiency and features are top of the list, then for me the MeacoFan 1056P Air Circulator is a clear winner. We have used DC technology before in our award winning Ultra Low Energy 25L dehumidifier so we know how good and reliable the technology is. It has three major benefits; The MeacoFan is far less fiddly to control than the great, but overcomplicated, Duux Whisper Flex Ultimate Fan, and although the touchscreen or remote controls are a little more involved than the very basic manual controls on the budget Honeywell Turbo Force Power Fan or the simple Russell Hobbs 12" Scandi Desk Fan, they're more intuitive, more ergonomic, and better placed for ease of use than either of these options. All in all, a score of 5 out of 5 for ease of use from me. Cooling powers

So far I was incredibly impressed by the MeacoFan 1056 Air Circulator, but there's still more to explore in its functionality. The final impressive setting is the ECO mode. When this is turned on the fan utilises its ability to detect the ambient room temperature, and automatically changes the fan speed in response. So at under 23°c it will run on speed setting 2, once the mercury rises to 23-35°c it auto-switches up to setting 4, all the way up to over 33°c when it will run on setting 12. A great way to maintain your cool, and save energy usage, without constantly faffing with settings. Verdict An ECO mode allows the fan to automatically change speed depending on the room temperature, ensuring that you’re not using up valuable energy when you don’t need to, and our timer function silently turns the fan off, so you can cool your bedroom and sleep in peace. Overall, considering it offers a good range of functionality, the MeacoFan 1056 Air Circulator was the easiest fan of all the options I've tested to use.

Then ECO mode will regulate its own performance depending on the room temperature. The higher the room temperature the faster the fan speed. While Meaco is gaining popularity in the UK, its products are harder to find outside of its native country, so unfortunately, readers in the US and Australia will likely struggle to get hold of the MeacoFan 1056P. Take its fans, for instance. These elegant machines look attractive in any environment. In fact, they’re so svelte in appearance they easily blend in with most furnishings, especially modern furnishings. The Air Multiplying technology the company employs for its fans and air purifiers is also a cut above the rest and borne out of years of research and development. The same thing goes for its latest range of air purifiers which perform better than most other models simply because the air is ported horizontally for a cooling effect instead of upwards where the cleaned air just gently bounces off the ceiling. For this reason alone, the Dyson Pure Humidify+Cool is one of the very best all rounders on the market. Currently, Dyson doesn’t produce any dehumidifiers or portable air conditioning products, but who knows what the future holds? Dyson vs Meaco: Cost of products This is a good choice if you don’t have the space for a pedestal fan, meanwhile, the MeacoFan 1056P is the one to get if you don’t have any surfaces such as desks or tables to place the fan. Now, I could waffle on about how all Dyson fans exploit the physical laws of inducement and entrainment but it would be much easier to just show you this mesmerising demonstration video involving a row of Dyson fans and a single balloon. Also ideal for homeschooling, remote working and home gyms or exercise rooms, this fan really hits the spot. One of the biggest foibles with fans, especially if used in a dusty or smoky environment, is that the blades get really filthy. Thankfully both of these fans can be taken apart to clean the blades. Yes, it’s a bit of a faff that involves a screwdriver, but at least it’s doable. MeacoFan 1056 Air Circulator review: Performance
