In DAILY mode the flashlight will remain on until the user turns it off manually. The "TURBO" level is only momentary by holding down the "MODE" button. The beam of the Nitecore TINI2 has a white (CW) tint that is not too cold and no particular artifact or dominant. I didn't notice PWM in the various brightness levels. The distance from the start of the spill to the feet is about 20 cm. Before the TINI 2, there was the original TINI and an SS verion that uses stainless steel. The TINI 2 is an entirely new redesigned version which is much sleeker.

Nitecore TINI2 Flashlight Review and Specifications

HOLD (MODE) [~1 sec] – Direct access to MOMENTARY TURBO, releasing switch will return to previous mode. Press the Power button to turn on the light. Then press the mode button to cycle through the 5 brightness modes. For this light, the spill, corona and hotspot is somewhat predictable due to the TIR optics. Surprisingly, the LED is not covered under the TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optics. With the LEDs used, the beam is suited for recognizing items in the up-close and near distance only. The Nitecore TINI 2 is an intelligent keyring light with an impressive maximum output of 500 lumens from the 2 x OSRAM P8 LEDs and is powered by a built-in 280mAh li-ion battery. The torch is rechargeable via a USB-C port at the head of the light for fast and convenient charging. The TINI 2 features a multi-functional OLED display screen which provides real-time information on the battery voltage, brightness level, user mode and remaining runtime. Pros: The TINI2 is an excellent tiny, lightweight EDC flashlight. It has 5modes and is a super bright keychain flashlight. It is easy to charge using USB-C and has a decent battery life. Has survived over a year of getting bumped around on a keychain.

Some pictures have been adjusted slightly to depict as close as to what is seen in real life. The distance of the light from the door is 4.6m. The modes are far more appropriate here than on the T4K due to the size of the light, and the Turbo being limited to 500 lumens keeps things in the realm of “warm but not burning holes in things”. The battery, while relatively small, can still give a decent amount of light out. 45 minutes on high, and 15 on Turbo, is definitely no slouch, and it holds the output pretty steadily until its time is up. We found the TINI2 has a longer battery life between charges than the original TINI in day to day use, even though the manual indicates it is the same or lower than the original TINI. With the flashlight On, the screen will show the various information in sequence: brightness level, lumens and user mode (Demo or Daily) and then the time remaining before the battery runs out. To reactivate the display just press the “MODE” button.

Featuring a strong and durable stainless steel body, the TINI 2 SS is finished with a PVD titanium coating for a sleek, elegant look. The high performance materials are resistant to scratches, corrosion and general wear, plus low and high temperatures. The tiny NITECORE TINI 2 (pronounced tee-knee) has two OSRAM-branded LEDs that go all the way up to 500 lumens—TURBO mode, as NITECORE calls it. It’ll drain the 280 mAh battery in less than an hour, but the point stands: it’s more than powerful enough for casual use. It’s not just raw brightness, either. NITECORE baked in some useful modes that maximize battery life, though it takes some memorizing to get the button combinations right. Don’t worry, though, because it has a built-in OLED display to clue you in on what’s going on. The 1 lumen setting is perfect enough for your to see around your area without anyone noticing a light coming from your bed. Most of all, it lasts practically forever. I would okay even with leaving it on overnight. Best of all, the TINI was designed in way that it can stand on its own. The Nitecore TINI 2 can stand on its own. There are 2 settings (DEMO and DAILY) and 2 electronic switches on the side of the flashlight – MODE button (closer to the head) & POWER button (further from the head) to operate the light.

This could be better

The 2 side electronic switches require a relatively light press to activate. The slightly recessed switches does help mitigate the possibility of unwanted activation of the light.
