The theme of this deck is Greek mythology and these myths are used to illustrate the deck and its psychological themes. The Lovers depicts the Judgment of Paris, The Star shows Pandora opening the box, and The High Priestess encapsulates Persephone’s story. My feeling is that reading these cards gives to allow new potential a different perspective and although the artist may have been given mandate to follow some precepts it is clear that not all the cards link especially easily with tradition. With images rich in psychological insight, the mythical legends they depict provide wisdom and guidance for seekers of personal growth. This modern offering has made some helpful modifications while still honoring the vision of the original.If you want to do a quick reading with the cards and you are learning by the book, you can skip the full explanation and just read the divinatory part. I find the clear imagery and stories present in the cards make for easy reading, I can always see meanings and situations in the cards that I can talk about. Sure the labels are in German, but the art is so distinct and vivid you’ll rarely use the labels anyway, so who cares? The art is appealing with some very beautiful cards such as the Empress, which features on the front of the box. I love how the Empress (Demeter) has been rendered in this card – pregnant, and standing among her growing crops.

shrug*) Each figure is associated with their own story, and while they’re a bit harder to remember than the Majors they still serve the purpose. The Cups suit follows the developing relationship between the god Eros and mortal princess Psyche, from chance meeting and heartbreak to the happily-ever-after ending.All in all, I give this deck 5 stars - Greek Myth has always been inspirational and trust me its worth it!
