The tractors appear in Unidentified Flying Mater, where Mater takes Mator tractor tipping. Mater tips a tractor with his horn, then Mator tips all of the other tractors in the field with a louder honk that created a crop circle design. In the Cars on the Road episode, Lights Out, a ghost tractor can be seen. In the episode titled " B-Movie", a tractor can be seen crossing the road.

Frank makes an appearance in Cars Land, in Radiator Springs Racers. Mater takes the vehicle tractor tipping, then they wake up Frank. He then chases away them, and you run away into Radiator Springs. A herd of tractors appear in Thomasville, where Lightning and Cruz Ramirez (who's serves as a sparing partner) to race through a stampede. There is promotional material for Frank’s cars 3 design, though he never actually appears in the third movie.

In Radiator Springs Racers, Sheriff asks Mater to take the riders to the big race. Mater takes them tractor tipping, but then they wake up Frank and run away into Radiator Springs to get ready for the race. Paul Newman as Doc Hudson, a 1951 Hudson Hornet, later revealed to be the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. He is also a doctor and a judge. (This was Newman's final film role before his retirement in May 2007 and his death in September 2008). In the Hebrew dub of the film, Lightning McQueen's name is changed to Speedy McQueen. In the opening act when McQueen makes the joke about "Thunder comes after Lightning", it is changed to "Gonzales comes after Speedy", referencing the Looney Tunes character Speedy Gonzales.In Lightning's dream about a "Lightning Storm" film, a car gets zapped by a tripod sparkplug bot and emits the Wilhelm scream. The Wilhelm scream is a sound effect used in many movies, including the original Star Wars film. This is Pixar's final film to be an independently produced motion picture (to use the old animation like Toy Story) before Pixar was bought by Disney. Starting from Ratatouille, the Pixar films were made with newer animation and animation used on Disney films.

Frank makes a cameo in Mater and the Ghostlight sleeping in the field with the tractors, until Mater wakes him up by speeding in front of him with a blue lantern on his hook which he thinks was "the Ghostlight". However, the physical location of Radiator Springs in relation to I-40 is similar to that of Peach Springs, Arizona. Tractors can be tipped when they hear horns honking, or engines revving loudly. In Cars 2: The Video Game, they are, however, easily tipped when you hit them. In Disney Infinity, they can be tipped by both ways. In Planes, some get tipped when Dusty flies past them during his training montage.Tractors are the Cars' world equivalent of female cattle, as combines and bulldozers are the equivalent of male cattle or bulls. All the tractors, including Frank, show up during the credits, watching the films screened at the Radiator Springs Drive-In Theatre. In Cars, when Sheriff puts Mater in charge of watching Lightning McQueen during his sentence of community service for a night, the two sneak off to go tractor tipping in Frank's fields. Once there, Mater instructs Lightning on how to play, by driving up quietly to a tractor and honking his horn. The sudden noise woke the tractor up, causing her to tip over in confusion.
