Additionally, it boasts an elegant wiring system to help keep your build tidy. Those that need a small form factor cooler to fit in their tower will certainly appreciate the cable management solution. To test the limits of a cooler's thermal dissipation capabilities, I run two primary stress tests: Cinebench and OCCT each for 10 minutes. While this may be a short amount of time, it is sufficient to push most coolers–air and liquid–to their limits. All in all, the Corsair Hydro Series H80i v2 is one of the top 120mm AIO coolers on the market. It keeps pace with many larger coolers due to its oversized radiator and hoses. While the price is steep, the Corsair is a great deal and is perfect for someone with a powerful machine but limited space in their tower. In addition to the new pump design, Arctic has fitted the Liquid Freezer II with an integrated motherboard VRM cooling solution – something which we have often hoped to see on an AIO cooler. Arctic has designed a 40mm blower type fan setup into the pump body which potentially can blow cool air out in three directions; this should help with VRM cooling, which in turn can improve performance. All things considered, this AIO cooler is beautifully designed but just a little bit flawed. You can find better cooling functionality for less money, even in the 120mm class. NZXT also offers a 6-year warranty, which is the longest manufacturer warranty offered on this list. For this cooler to be a good deal, you’ll have to love the look of the infinity RGB. But if that’s you, this cooler is well-made and features a warranty that makes it a worthy investment. I'll be testing Arctic’s Liquid Freezer II 240 with Intel's i9-12900K. Due to the increased thermal density of the Intel 7 manufacturing process, as well as changes to core and component layouts, Alder Lake CPUs are more difficult to cool than previous generation CPUs in the most heat-intensive of workloads. Like many other AIO coolers, installing the Cooler Master MasterLiquid LC120L RGB V2 is very easy. It’s as simple as fastening a few screws, and PC builders of all levels will have no issues getting this cooler up and running. The RGB lights on the pump and fan interface with an RGB-compatible motherboard or can be manipulated with the included controller. If RGB isn’t your thing, this cooler still looks sleek with the lights off, thanks to the matte finish. The selling point of the ML120R is its performance. It is one of the best-performing 120mm AIO coolers on the market. Its dual-fan setup allows it to cool more efficiently than some larger coolers and will easily keep the highest performing CPUs, like the Ryzen 9 7950X, incredibly cool even under heavy loads.Radiator Dimensions: 150 x 121 x 27mm / 5.9 x 4.8 x 1.1” | Fan Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25mm / 4.7 x 4.7 x 1” | Fan Speed: 800 ~ 2500 RPM +/- 10 % | Noise Volume: Up to 37.6 dBA | Warranty: 5 years Quality-wise, this ASUS AIO is great. The pump is made completely out of aluminum, while the cold plate is highly-conductive copper. Its hoses are sleeved in nylon and are incredibly durable. You’ll be very impressed with the quality of the Strix LC 120. All in all, this is a great option for an AIO water cooler. It has a small footprint, so you’ll be able to install it in most towers, and it’s highly durable due to the quality of its components. The included 5-year warranty is also a welcome sight. Overall, the EK AIO D-RGB represents good value. This shows the delta in height, measured in microns, from a calibrated 0-point. The A500’s box plot shows the largest range, illustrating the chaotic levelness that hurt its performance, while the Deepcool Assassin III and original Wraith coolers have some of the best levelness. The Arctic Liquid Freezer II averaged about 8-10 microns depth from the 0-point, with minimums and maximums at 2 microns and 48 microns. The Liquid Freezer II has a couple deep points in the coldplate, but is overall closer to the smooth end than the unlevel end. Installation & Mounting

Tube Diameter – Outer: 12.4 mm Inner: 6.0 mm Dimensions w/o tubes (L x W x H) 98 mm x 78 mm x 53 mm Installing this ARTIC cooler is similar to installing many other AIO coolers. ARCTIC doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel here or anything; it’s just some simple screws and applying a bit of thermal paste. The included thumbscrews mean your screwdriver can stay in your bag while you install this cooler, and its small footprint will help it find a home in just about any tower. Coming at more than a fair price and featuring a 6-year warranty, this cooler is an incredible bargain given its price and performance. Overall, the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120R RGB is arguably the best 120mm AIO cooler on the market. If you can afford the higher price, you’ll be getting your money’s worth with the incredible RGBs and amazing cooling performance. The dual-fan setup is relatively unique and dramatically improves its cooling abilities. However, the quality of this EVGA cooler is top-notch. It features a curved fan housing designed to reduce noise. The fan’s bearings are also made of Teflon, making them highly resilient and long-lasting. Unfortunately, the software requires a Facebook or Google account to save profiles, but you can run it in guest mode if you refuse to link a profile because you’re concerned about how NZXT handles your information. You just won’t be able to save your settings. It falls just short of the incredibly high bar set by the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120R RGB. You’ll love the ASUS ROG Strix LC 120 AIO cooler if you have a powerful machine but are hard-pressed to make space for a cooler with a larger form factor. As far as performance goes, the EVGA CLC 120 AIO is on par with other 120mm coolers. It’s not the most robust 120mm cooler on the market, but it will get the job done. It’s not an ideal cooler for a more powerful machine, but it’s been tested and proven to reduce CPU temps by an average of 8 degrees C at idle and under heavier loads. As for quality, this Cooler Master AIO is exactly what you’d expect at this price point. All the components are sturdy and well-made. Hoses are sleeved to improve their longevity and eliminate kinks. The radiator boasts a copper cooling plate, similar to most other AIO coolers. It shares a lot of its components with the highly-rated ML120L, another offering from Cooler Master.

Priced at the mid-range, this cooler skips out on the RGB LEDs that more expensive options provide. That may be a disappointment for some, especially those looking to color-match their cooler with the rest of their build. The Corsair logo on the pump is a bright white LED light that can’t be turned off while the cooler is powered, another minor disappointment. First things first, the RGB design of this cooler is breathtaking. RGB LEDs are nestled on the pump and, when activated, provide an “infinity mirror” look. This is easily the best-looking 120mm AIO cooler on the market. The RGBs are totally customizable and can even be configured to change color based on the temperature, something no other 120mm cooler on the list is able to do.The Corsair H60’s main problem is how loud it is. Its 52 dBA of noise makes it difficult to recommend in light of newer, quieter AIOs. The SilverStone PF120-ARGB, for example, is about 16 dBA quieter at its maximum fan speed. It’ll still do a decent job cooling a modern mid-tier CPU, but it’s not one we’d recommend over newer, quieter AIOs. Arctic has built, thus far, a good product. We need to see how it does long-term, as Enermax has scared us away from firm recommendations on thermals alone. We would recommend the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 as a go-to solution over competing liquid coolers, based on thermal and acoustic performance, although we’d also note that most proven (e.g. Asetek, CoolIT) coolers will perform similarly. If you want RGB LEDs, you’re mostly just paying more for them, but should be in the ballpark for performance.

But considering that Gamers Nexus measured the M22 at 45.8 dBA, we can deduce that the Arctic’s noise levels are in the mid-30s dBA. A 120 mm Arctic P12 model is used as a fan, which was specially developed for use on radiators. The 120 millimeter fan ensures a strong air flow at a maximum of 1,800 rpm. Thanks to the 4-pin PWM connection, the fan only rotates as fast as the temperature development on the CPU requires. Our next chart continues with the 3950X 200W load, but allows all the coolers to run at 100% fan speed during the test. This doesn’t move the needle much for Arctic, which seems to top-out in its efficiency at around 1200RPM rather than its maximum 1600RPM. The results were +/-1C as usual, but our average ended up at 50.9 degrees over ambient. That’s not enough of a change, so there’s room to reduce noise level without much loss of overall performance. At the 1610RPM speed, the Arctic cooler ran at 42.5dBA at the normal 20” distance. This puts it about equal in thermal performance to the NZXT Kraken X62 and X72, which run around 51-53dBA, or a perceived noise increase to the human ear of about 2x. Again, that’s perceived to the human ear, not acoustic power, which is a different scale. Either way, Arctic’s solution is significantly quieter at the same performance. The EVGA CLC 360 shows that we’re not limited by our test bench, but also that jet engine levels of noise are needed to drive the temperature down further. 3800X – 35dBA Another very interesting design feature of the Arctic Liquid Freezer II is its extremely neat and tidy appearance. Arctic has integrated cable management into fully sleeved tubes for a clean look in your PC’s case. Both fan cables run inside the tube sleeving and connect to the pump housing. A single cable then comes from the pump and connects to the motherboard, which drives both fans and the pump.
