From just the box contents we’re sitting at 530 points plus any additional wargear. Per usual we’ll be taking this force up to a full 2000 point army. Now, before we go much further there is one thing to call out about this Combat Patrol: None of these units are Blood Angel specific units. What does that mean? Well, realistically, you could buy this box and use it as a core for any Space Marine army. Just don’t use the Blood Angel’s bits and it’s a very basic Space Marine Combat Patrol. Primaris Incursors (5 miniatures, each supplied with a Citadel 32mm Round Base, can instead be assembled as Infiltrators) Rules for fielding a Blood Angels 9th editionarmy are found in the Space Marines 9th Edition Warhammer 40k codex and the Blood Angels codex supplement. Paint inside the edges of the previous highlight with Troll Slayer Orange. I try to only do this on the edges of the armor that would be lit from above.

Immortals (each supplied with a Citadel 32mm Round Base, can alternately be assembled as Deathmarks) My goal is to have a fully self-sufficient army of forward ops and fast movers within my Blood Angels collection, which will make for a fantastic Crusade force. Kairic Acolytes – the frontline troops of the Disciples of Tzeentch, dangerous at any range and capable of offering magical support. Each can be equipped with a choice of weapons, and the kit comes with a variety of accessories for personalising and upgrading your models. Hive Guard (each supplied with a Citadel 50mm Round Base, can alternately be assembled as Tyrant Guards) Tzeentch’s might is yours to master with the Fatesworn Host – a massive battleforce set that’s perfect for starting or expanding a Tzeentch army. Inside, you’ll find the makings of a vast force, giving you a fantastic point to expand out from, all for less than you’d pay getting the models separately. Lead your forces with a Lord of Change and Gaunt Summoner while shattering enemies with formations of Kairic Acolytes and Tzaangors.Despite this influx of new blood, the Blood Angels are in a precarious position. The Baal system lies on the far side of the Cicatrix Maledictum, cutting them off from the light of the Emperor. They are a bastion of light against the darkness – yet, a darkness lingers in their hearts as well. The Characters and Dreadnoughts are the standout models in the force. I wanted my Characters to have the heroic bearing on the table that they have in the novels and to be visually distinct. To this end, I converted many of them from heroes of other Chapters or even from Forge World’s Primarch models.* Drones (each supplied with a Citadel Small Flying Base, can be assembled as various drone types, including gun, shield, marker, pulse accelerator, grav-inhibitor and recon drones) Ah, the Blood Angels– noble and civilised sons of Sanguinius, most handsome, tragic, star-crossed and pretty of all the Emperor’s ‘Primarch’ sons. These renaissance Italy-themed space marines are among the most storied and popular chapters of the Adeptus Astartes. Tzaangor Enlightened – champions of Tzeentch who use their discs to get into combat at incredible speeds. These can also be built as lethal long-ranged Tzaangor Skyfires.

Spread the word of the Greater Good with this Starpulse Cadre. It features several units that are ideal for inclusion in any T’au Empire force, whether you’re starting a new army or adding to an existing one, all for less than you’d pay getting the models separately. Of the 25 miniatures in the Orks Combat Patrol, 24 were brand new on the set’s release, including 20 new Ork Boyz, three Deffkoptas, and a Warboss in mega-armour. The Deff Dread isn’t a new sculpt, but is as shooty and stompy as ever. Skywardens / Endrinriggers – airborne warriors buildable as gallant Skywardens or ship-repairing Endrinriggers. If you seek to use more covert methods to defeat your opponent, or wish to add a solid core of Vanguard units to your collection, look no further than the Space Marines Interdiction force! It features multiple units that are ideal for inclusion in any Space Marines force, whether you’re starting a a new army or adding to an existing one, all for less than you’d pay getting the models separately. While within 6” of the army’s Warlord their Heirs to Azkaellon ability grants them +1 to hit, and the unique Unbridled Ardour stratagem allows them to heroically intervene as if they were a character in your opponents’ charge phase from a distance up to 6”.

Paint all silver parts of the model with Leadbelcher. Wash these sections with Nuln Oil. Highlight all the edges of the armor with Evil Sunz Scarlet. Destroy the galaxy in the name of the Dark Gods with this Decimation Warband. It features several units that are ideal for inclusion in any Chaos Space Marines force, whether you’re starting a a new army or adding to an existing one, all for less than you’d pay getting the models separately. The Blood Angels are a combat focused army, able to field extremely powerful characters and specialist melee units. While they retain many options that lend their conventional Space Marine brethren tactical flexibility, the chances are that if you build a Blood Angels army, you’re going to specialise in slicing and dicing. The idea solidified when I set about painting a unit of Infiltrators and asked myself how they expected to infiltrate anywhere in the desert wearing bright red armour. I couldn’t be happier with how successful the Ossian Suppression camo experiment has been. The contents of this set provides you with an ideal force of Blood Angels for Combat Patrol-sized games, including approximately 25 Power Level’s worth of miniatures. This incredible collection of units allows for you to get creative and paint even the finest details found on these miniatures. We highly recommend using both Citadel brushes and paints to get the best possible outcome. There is a huge variety of vibrant paints that have all been designed specifically for Warhammer painting and to suit all needs. Simply choose your painting method and get started as painting adds to the fun of the Warhammer hobby. Once primed and ready, let the battle commence!

See if you can spot which Characters and Primarchs Colin has used as the basis for his own Characters… There’s no prize for getting them all, but it’s fun. Dankhold Troggboss – a hulking commander perfect for leading fellow Troggoths into battle that can also be built as an equally punchy Dankhold Troggoth.

I hope you enjoyed this, please let me know in the comments below how you would build a 1,000 point list from the Combat Patrol Box and why not also let me know what you think to my list. There may well be aspects of the codex or units that I have not included that you think should be, so why not let us know in the comments below. Many Imperial strategists believe the Bastion Platoon to be the mainstay of the Astra Militarum fighting force. A combined arms formation of infantry and supporting armour, a Bastion Platoon can break wave after wave of enemy assaults with withering lasgun, heavy weapon and artillery fire.
