I cant say too much thing about soundstage and imagining of these headphones since my ears are not good in terms of figuring out the bigness of soundstages of headphones and such. Fortunately i havent noticed any serious sibilance, Pro 82 does pretty good job on avoiding it which is surprising considering how hyped the treble can sometimes be compared to other frequencies. But treble/midrange-ratio is not balanced enough for my liking, be aware that these headphones might annoy you at first in this area, at least they did it for me.

Gamery look isn't for everyone (still better than many others, also not as gamery in person) It's still fairly understanded and mild looking. Yes, Cooler Master may have gotten the short end when it comes to the MH752’s looks, but Takstar’s once again worked minor miracles at a budget-friendly price. IDG / Hayden Dingman Sendy Avia – Oddly more closed sounding than the Pro 82. Slightly better transparency. Detail retrieval is on par with V1. Midrange felt…weird although vocals were very lifelike. I liked the headphone quite a bit. The starting point without an EQ is not an ideal place to try to equalize, as mentioned in the “Mids and Vocals” section, users will get much better results by simply switching the bass level control to any of the less boosted positions. Moreover, the overall weight of the TAKSTAR PRO 82 is unexpectedly light for a headphone of this size and even more considering that has some metal parts. Some of the glue failed on my Pro 82’s some time before I got them. Gluing these pads down was a stupid move. FEATURES/EXTRAS I think they’re good for about any purpose you can have for a headphone: movies, gaming, work concentration/distraction, sound editing, monitoring, music creation, general reality escape, etc. The hype that came with the Takstar Pro 82 reminds me of the Phillips SHP9500. So does the Pro 80 live up to the expectations in terms of sound? Low-End (Bass) It is crucial to understand that the red and blue lines in the Pro 82's FR must be ignored - they represent the "bass boost" feature. As a weird audio person who also loves video games, I love this headset. But it’s not as truly market-crushing now as it would have been five years ago. Cooler Master is the fifth or sixth company to build a better HyperX Cloud II, not the first.

They still don’t feel as robust or tank-like in the hands as many other gaming headsets/studio headphones that use more metal in their designs. Rubberized plastic is still plastic. But this is a noticeable step up from the Pro 82 and that’s impressive. Unlike the Pro 82 you don't get the amazing Takstar Box. But that's ok since this is a gaming headset. Focal Clear – Every bit of sound is clearer here over the Pro 82 (pun intended) but sound stage feels very intimate. One of these costs as much as approximately two dozen Pro 82 pairs. I love my Clear headphones, but if I bought a Pro 82 first would I have kept the Clear? Hmm… I would not call midrange as the strongest point of these headphones but energetic and detailed delivery of instruments (and bassports) still almost makes me forget it and for me its one of the main features that makes Pro 82 such a fun headphone to listen to. You might wont notice any of this on a daily listening without comparing them to other headphones with more even midrange. An EQ adds noticeable punch and some extra depth but as on the previous mode, their sub-bass can start to distort.and clarity is improved. Moving the peak from 5.5kHz to 8kHz must have contributed to removing sibilance. An unusual feature of this headphone is a switch on each cup which is supposed to adjust bass. See my measurements later on effectiveness of it.

Still, they are not the silentest headphone that your money can buy and they will be heard by nearby people on quiet situations. The response to EQ of the TAKSTAR PRO82 was outstandingly efficient on mids and highs but not so much for sub-bass. Amp needs: These are very easy to drive and they should be able to run on anything but the crappiest sources. PS4 controllers may be too low. An EQ, makes their mids cleaner but it is preferably better to just use them in “Bass Off” mode than equalizing it on this mode. They have decent clarity especially in the treble region and for a small part of the bass region there is very good resolution, like little short flashes of brilliance. Vocals are actually very very well done and actually sound "airy" but unlike the treble and bass it's weakness outweighs its brilliance; by this I mean every so often you will find music that doesn't sound "right" vocally.

If you ever want to change out the pads on the Pro 82, you’ll need to buy an entirely new set of pads and rings from Takstar…which as far as I can tell, is very hard to do unless you’re in Asia. Or, you could snap the rings off and then peel out a bunch of glue, then put your own pads on the rings. They are very comfortable. Maybe the 2nd most comfortable headphones I have tried behind the WS1100iS. See I had gone years thinking all around ear headphones were designed to torture the user, so the recent ones I have tried have been very surprising in the comfort department. The only major sonic flaw of the Pro 82’s is that they have too much upper-end energy. If you’re into critical listening it’s not going to be a big deal, and you can mask it a little by opening up the ports….but then you lose some of the clarity that energy provides. The clarity difference is like going from a DT770 to a DT990. The good things about the Cloud II’s mids and highs are amped up in the Pro 82's, and that brings its own set of plusses and minuses.
