Another feature Bosch products are well known for is a great safety record. Obviously, if not used correctly, any lawnmower can be dangerous but Bosch has done everything they can to make the AdvancedRotak 750 as safe as possible without reducing its effectiveness. Finally, my favourite feature of the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 was how easy it was to store. I always find it a pain having to unscrew the handlebars, but this wasn’t an issue with the Advanced Rotak. The Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 was easy to manoeuvre, but there’s no denying that it’s heavier than most. With a weight of 16 kg, it was noticeable when carrying. Despite the heavy weight, the wide carry handle on the base made life easier. I could fit both hands underneath it, which is rare. All in all this Bosch AdvancedRotak 750 is a fantastic mower full of features that can be used to help make mowing your lawn that bit easier and enjoyable.

The 41 cm cutting diameter of the Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 is ideal for medium to large gardens. The Ergonomic design and smooth running wheels will allow you to zip around the garden in no time but still provide the precision and ease of movement for curves and edges. The Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 features a 1700 watt powerful motor designed to cut larger and more demanding lawns whilst still providing a professional cut. This is assisted by the large amount of cutting heights that I will cover that later in this review. Equipped with many impressive features, the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 didn’t disappoint in this area. It has a patented ProSilence sound system (designed to reduce sound output by up to 75%), 7 easily adjustable cutting heights, a leaf collector blade and side combs that enable close edge cutting. This AdvancedRotak 36-660 is the bigger brother of the Bosch UniversalRotak 36-560 and these two new mowers from Bosch are almost identical. For this reason, I am not going to write a full review of this larger Bosch cordless mower, but direct you to the full review of the Bosch UniversalRotak 36-560 here. But before you go – you need to know what the differences are between these two mowers so you get the one that is best suited to you and your lawn.

Specifications

And don’t forget the LeafCollect blades and the small footprint when this mower is folded away for storage. To learn more about the benefits of a mower that has the ability to mulch the lawn, please see my article “ The Benefits of Mulching Grass – Complete Guide with Pros & Cons“.

The Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 has a powerful 1700W motor and has a 41 cm cutting width using a hardened steel blade designed for medium to large sized lawns. The smooth sound profile of the Bosch ProSilence prevents your lawnmower from disturbing your neighbours by reducing its noise level by up to 75% to 89 dB.As the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 is armed with 7 cutting heights and a built-in LeafCollect blade, I wanted to see how it fared against a lawn heavily strewn with autumn leaves. My biggest concern was whether it could collect the leaves, shred them up, and still cut the grass underneath in a uniform fashion. Bosch have opted for a large 50 litre grass box on both the AdvancedRotak 750 and the AdvancedRotak 650 makes sense as both mowers are designed for larger lawns. The 750 mower does a fantastic job of compacting the cuttings into this very large grass box meaning less trips to the compost for emptying. The 750 does naturally become heavier as the grass box fills but I never had any issues manoeuvring the mower around the lawn. Having said that I don’t really have any steep inclines in my garden, but I guess you could always empty the grass box before it is completely full or starting to become heavy. With the ProSilence feature Bosch have also kept vibrations and noise at extremely good levels for a mower of this power. Is 7 separate cutting lengths better than the competition? Well yes. Some mowers at this price point only have 3 height adjustments, however, most will have 5 so it really does beat the competition hands down. The Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 is built on the larger end of the scale with dimensions of 76 x 49 x 45 cm. Despite its size, it claims that it can cut close to the edges of walls and fences due to its side grass combs.

What I like about this mower is the seven different cutting heights and the easy way you adjust the height from the central handle. This really does make a difference as many competitors have a single lever mounted at the front of the mower which you have to fight with to adjust the height. The other nice touch is the huge 50 Litre grass box that folds flat and has a “grass box full” display, well done Bosch.

Why buy from us?

Since the cutting height ranges from 25 mm to 80 mm, this lawnmower is unlikely to struggle with tall grass. I tried it on the highest setting (7) on shorter patches of grass, and setting 5 on taller areas. Both times, it cut at just the right height. When it came to testing out the side combs to see how well they cut around my raised sleepers, the results were better than expected. Many lawnmowers fail in this area, despite making claims to achieve a close shave. The Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 trimmed very close to the edges and I only had to use the strimmer on a few strands rather than huge wads of grass. The video below from Bosch shows the ProSilence in action. It shows the AdvancedRotak with ProSilence at different distances and compares it to a mower (Rotak 43) without ProSilence. This should clearly show the benefits of the feature.

We take pride in our professionalism and deep understanding of lawnmowers and garden equipment. Our team consists of knowledgeable experts who stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements. We are committed to sharing our expertise with you, ensuring that you make informed decisions and find the perfect lawnmower for your specific needs. Reliability: The Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 model also has grass combs for great edges and corners as well as LeafCollect to gather leaves as you work on the lawn. The lawnmower comes with a 10-meter power cable. If more range is required an extension cord will be needed. This length of power cable is relatively standard for all electric mowers. If you have left your lawn to grow for a while, don’t rush in and cut it on a very low setting. Rather start on a higher setting and progressively cut it lower. This will avoid leaving an untidy patchy appearance or even scalping parts of your lawn. The Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 is an electric lawnmower that boasts an engine power of 1700W and a cutting width of 410 millimeters. Weighing in at 20000 grams, it comes equipped with a grass catcher and has a grass collecting volume of 50L. The minimum cutting height is 20mm, and the maximum cutting height is 80mm, with cutting clearance adjustment available. The vibration emission of the lawnmower is 2.5m/s², with an uncertainty K of 1.5m/s². The lawnmower produces a sound pressure level of 75dB and a sound power level of 88dB, with a standard deviation of 1dB. Power source for the Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 is AC. The Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 has very few design flaws. The only exception for me is the mesh grass collector. Even though the lid is made of plastic, I find mesh material can easily split, especially when mowing damp grass. Plus, it’s hard to clean.
