Description

What makes the 6-Series so unique is that, despite its affordable price tag, it sports features that you’d find on TVs that cost twice as much, making it an incredible value. There is also support for gaming enthusiasts via TCL Games Master Pro with a native 144Hz panel and the ability to use this via HDMI 1, plus there is support for 4K/120 via HDMI 2, AMD Freesync premium, ALLM (Auto Low Latency mode) and VRR (Variable refresh rate). Plus, there is the TCL Game Bar where you can switch HGIG support on, look at your stats bar, see the frame rate and VRR performance, and there is also a toolbox for aiming aids to help you within your chosen games. The TCL C735 is a good all-round workhorse TV designed to be used in normal lighting conditions and offers a good selection of connectivity, gaming features, HDR compatibility and smart TV. Used in this manner it comes recommended and has been scored with the market position and cost in mind vs. performance. Elegant and smart: the bezeless luxury design of TCL C63K Series comes with an adjustable dual position stand.* Plenty of TV to keep the whole house happy. The nation's most popular TV platform offers an impressive 30,000+ hours of TV, all for free.

The C93, C83 and C73 Series all use the new Ai PQ2.0 processor, using Deep Learning with Super Resolution upscaling. As well as the standard Dynamic Colour support, the P735 also adds a Wide Colour Gamut to the mix, with the usual HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision line-up. It has a 60Hz native display with de-judder and Motion Clarity Pro, along with Micro Dimming and wide viewing angle. There’s also Dolby Atmos support with its two down-firing, full-range, but non-Onkyo speakers. The 55C735K continues to go far beyond its price point by supporting all four of the main high dynamic range formats of HDR, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. So unlike, say, all of LG’s TVs, which don’t support HDR10+, and all of Samsung TVs, which don’t support Dolby Vision, the TCL 55C735K will play the best version available of whatever source you feed it. Percentage luminance drop at 20 degree vertical angle from the centre of the screen with 50% white outputAs well the FreeView Play perks of the Android Smart TV platform, the P735 also offers up TCL Home and Google Home, Google Duo and Google Assistant built-in, along with Alexa compatibility for hands-free voice control. There’s also support for Chromecast but no Apple AirPlay 2, while gamers can access Game Master with Stadia streaming titles and ALLM (down to 15ms), but not to the same 120Hz levels as the more expensive models.

The TCL 55C735K’s theme of punching well above its price weight continues with its picture performance. Once you’ve tweaked away one or two preset gremlins, anyway. The 55C735K’s HDR tone mapping is good enough, too, to deliver reasonable amounts of subtle shading in the brightest HDR picture areas, avoiding the excessive bleaching out of these HDR picture areas that can sometimes afflict such affordable TVs. Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying a live scene and white square taking up 60% of the screen (measured in Nits) The C635 also boasts an Onkyo sound system with 2.0 set-up using 2-way, down-firing speakers to enhance any Dolby Atmos output. There’s also hands-free support with voice controls and compatibility with the likes of TCL Home, Alexa and Chromecast (but no Apple AirPlay 2 or the likes of Matter and Miracast). With advanced Hands-Free voice control combined to Google Assistant, TCL's Android TV makes life smart and simple. If you are looking for a TV that provides excellent picture quality and a range of features at an affordable price, the TCL 55C635K is a great choice. However, consider other higher-end models if you want a TV with more advanced features or better sound quality. Additionally, if you prefer OLED or MicroLED technology, there may be better choices than this TV.

Note, of course, that these aren't HDMI 2.1 ports that can carry 4K/120Hz or 8K signals – but 4K/60 or 1440p/120 is still very much possible here. As you can guess, the first two digits relate to the screen size, with the P reflecting the LCD product line (you’ll note it changes to C for the QLED and Mini LED models). Rather than using a letter to reflect the yearly updates like many of its competitors, TCL increases the Series number, so last year’s P62 and C82 ranges, for example, become P63 and C83 in 2022. This is the followed with a further digit cementing each model’s place in the Series (the P638 ranked above the P635 and RP630), and the last letter denoting the region (with K being the UK). Percentage luminance drop at 35 degree horizontal angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output It doesn’t have the ‘Pro’ status of those before it, but it does come with a Game Master set-up with 120Hz and VRR, ALLM, Stadia certification and most of the trimmings (although FreeSync is limited to the 55-inch model and above). However, it could also be the last in this list to offer genuine high-quality HDMI 2.1 support, so if that’s a key factor for you, then this could be your best affordable option. Size / Model (UK)The TCL 55C635K 55-inch QLED Television comes with a 2-year warranty, providing peace of mind to users in case of any issues with the product. This warranty is standard for most electronics in this category and ensures that users can use the product without worrying about unforeseen problems. VS Other Brands

Subtitle and audio description information spoken on the electronic programme guide more info panel HDR technology enhances the brightness and contrast of images, resulting in a more dynamic and immersive viewing experience. The 55C735K’s pictures also have a nice 4K snap to them once the shadow detail and colour crush issues have been sorted out, and this holds up, too, when there’s movement in the frame, thanks to some impressively blur- and judder-free motion handling. This monitor comes with various pre-set color modes, including sRGB and HDR, allowing users to choose the optimal display settings for their needs. Additionally, the monitor supports hardware calibration, which can further enhance the accuracy and consistency of the display.

LG OLED Flex – Quick Preview: I want one!

Subtitles and audio description information displayed on electronic programme guide more info panel The only other issue with the AiPQ Engine is that, no matter the mode, we’ve noticed that the processor can over-process areas of extreme brightness, making them a flat white color. We noticed this in clouds that lost their texture in shows like Down to Earth on Netflix or bright white buildings. It could be that the Mini LEDs are all turning on in a given area when only a few should, effectively boosting the brightness of the scene but obscuring small details in the image. The default Vivid mode, for instance, is a particularly bad offender when it comes to the crushed detail in dark scenes and distractingly overwrought colours. The Movie mode fixes the lost shadow detail issue impressively well but struggles with too much red in the mix and heavy amounts of greyness over dark scenes. The low-power mode, meanwhile, is just too dark to do HDR effectively. The Smart TV system is Google TV with a wide range of VOD apps from Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and more, with some catch-up services but no Freeview Play or BBC iPlayer out of the box. It is fast and stable with 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos available from those apps supporting them.
